In the wake of Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards calling it quits and ending their engagement, plenty of people have spoken out and shared their reactions. It was easily the breakup heard around the world — besides that time Zayn left his former group, One Direction — and even the singer's ex-girlfriend Geneva Lane didn't hold back when it came to sharing her opinion.
The former x-Factor contestant unleashed her feelings about Zayn, while trying to defend Perrie.
She deserves so much better than to be treated how she has for so long. So many lies and so much deceit. So wrong. She will come out strong.— G E N E V A (@wanderlustayne) August 4, 2015
Girl was not afraid to tell the world her brutally honest thoughts on the matter! And fans definitely let her know how they felt about her opinion.
I forgot what the wrath of 1D fans was like! Its only an opinion guys! But thanks for making my feed so active... It's been a while 😂— G E N E V A (@wanderlustayne) August 5, 2015
However, she has realized that while supporting Perrie is a great thing, tearing down Zayn in the process isn't necessarily the path she should've chosen. Geneva has since tweeted out an apology.
I'd like to apologise for my previous tweet. The language was inappropriate and under the circumstances my comment was insensitive.— G E N E V A (@wanderlustayne) August 5, 2015
Standing up for Perrie is noble of Geneva and we know she was going for a girl power moment, but it's also very big of her to realize that tweeting out some not so nice words about Zayn isn't ideal the way to support the Little Mix singer. It looks like the drama continues in this heartbreaking saga!
