We admit we're always on the hunt for fabulous lighting to snap selfies in and love a good Instagram filter every once in awhile, but now there are just so many apps out there that can edit your photos beyond recognition. When asked about them in a new interview, Vanessa Hudgens shared that she is strongly against them – and the powerful reason why.
"I think [these apps] are quite silly," Vanessa told Beauty Coach. "If you don’t like the way you look in a photo then quite frankly, maybe you’re trying to be someone you’re not. Women shine so bright when they know who they are and are proud to show it. Express yourself in photos, don’t try to be someone else."
It's hard not to worry about what your presence on social media looks like, but the star has some great advice for balancing your real life from your photo-shares.
"Don’t obsess over it," she advised. "There’s a beautiful world out there and nothing compares to human contact. Yes social media can be fun but don’t dedicate too much time to it. Live your life first, and share moments you’ve captured second." We love that so much.
