TWIST: Tell us a little bit about the movie. Sasha Jackson: I play Dana and the movie is based around Dana's character and her search for her mother. She has her mother's old Polaroids and her journal and she's re-tracing her steps through South Africa. And she meets Pushy who quickly becomes her best friend! Elizabeth Mathis: It's a love story between two best friends who really help each other conquer a lot. And it has amazing adventure and surf!
TWIST: Did you film any of your own surfing scenes? Sasha: We did a lot of the surfing ourselves but we had incredible stunt doubles who were doing what we couldn't physically learn! We have a lot of world class surfers in this movie. Rosy Hodges: I'm a professional surfer and I was lucky enough to do the surfing in the movie as Sasha's stunt double. Elizabeth: We went through a four-week training process and we had amazing instructors to show us the ropes. I think that's where we really bonded as a cast!
TWIST: After spending so much time in the water, we have to ask: what's your favorite water sport? Elizabeth: Well now my favorite water sport is surfing! [Laughs] I also love Marco Polo - that's the best pool game! Rosy: I obviously love surfing, but also body surfing. Just going out with a pair of flippers and catching some waves. Sasha: I used to be a high-board diver so I love to dive. But when I was a kid, I used to make obstacle courses and swim through them like I was a cave diver. I was a geek!
TWIST: Sounds fun! Okay, spill: any fun, embarrassing moments from set? Rosy: Well, I had to surf with dots on my face - these little painted dots - for the face replacement technology. So, I'd walk around for the entire day with dots painted on my face. And everyone had something to say! Sasha: I had an embarrassing moment when I was a national high-board diver for England. I think I was 9 or 10. I was walking to the end of the diving board in front of all of these Olympic judges and there was a boy on the board above me. I was looking at him as I was walking and I probably shouldn't have been because I walked off the end of the board!
TWIST: Oh my gosh! Did you hurt yourself? Sasha: No, I just sort of fell off the board. But it was like one of those cartoon moments where you just sort of step off. That was pretty embarrassing!
TWIST: We're glad you're okay! Thanks so much for talking with us! All: Thanks TWIST!
