TWIST caught up with Pia Toscano! She released her single "This Time" in July and just finished her American Idols Live! 2011 Tour. Check out our interview for Pia's favorite song and what she's working on next! Watch our video below for Pia's back to school traditions!
Xoxo, TWIST TWIST: How the tour's been going? Pia: The tour's awesome! It's been so much fun seeing different places and performing and not having so much pressure on you after every song, so that's been really cool. We're having a blast together. We pick on each other, fight like brother and sister, but it's a lot of fun.
TWIST: That's awesome! Who would you say you're closest to of all the people on the tour? Pia: On tour, we each have our own special thing going on with each other, so there's no relationship that's closer than another. We all have a special relationship.
TWIST: What's your favorite song that you're performing? Pia: I'm performing my single, "This Time," so that's really special to me, but also, I lucked out. I perform a lot of special numbers. I do "Empire State of Mind," which is very close to home because I'm from New York. "California King Bed" is a duet I do with Stefano Langone, and I think our voices complement each other really well, so it's a nice song. TWIST: Your album will be coming in the not-too-distant future? Pia: Yeah! Mid-fall.
TWIST: Can you tell our readers a little about what to expect? Pia: I'm about eight songs in right now on my album, so you know, as soon as we get off the tour, we're going to finish the album, and I just want it to be a good representation of who I am. Like, I just don't want to rush anything. We have some cool songs coming together now, some cool collaborations.
TWIST: So when you're on the tour, how do you manage to keep friendships strong? Pia: It's been kind of hard because I've been so busy and I can't always talk on the phone, but we try to text at least once a week and talk on the phone every few weeks.
TWIST: Thank you!
