Adding a filter to an Instagram pic is one thing, but completely altering your appearance in your pics by using ten different apps, a filter, and a fade is something else entirely. Jennette McCurdy opened up on her own Instagram account to say that she doesn't want to see girls posting heavily-editing photos because they're not comfortable with how they really look.
To make her point, the actress shared a scary-skinny photo of herself, where she edited her body to totally unnatural proportions to show how over-the-top filters can get.
"Hey guys - can we stop using facetune and other flaw-correcting apps to extremes? Instead of camouflaging our flaws and feeling ashamed, let's embrace our strengths and feel empowered," Jennette wrote in her photo's caption. "Comment on this post with three things you love about yourself. #selflove."
We love that Jennette is calling on us all to proudly embrace our best qualities instead of stressing over "fixing flaws."
