If you're thinking of going to prom this year, you're likely dreaming about all of the fun and elaborate promposals that you hope your date thinks up. After all, how fun is it to be asked to a school dance in a creative, personalized, or elaborate way? Well, social media stars and real-life couple Summer McKeen and Dylan Jordan partnered up with Mens' Wearhouse to create a fun promposal campaign to inspire tons of students to go bold with their invitations this prom season. TWIST caught up with the pair to ask them all about their prom experiences – and you can check out our exclusive Q&A below.
TWIST: Can you tell us all about your partnership with Mens' Wearhouse?
Summer McKeen: It was unlike any other experience I've had with any other brand. It was so much fun and everyone was so creative and fun to work with.
Dylan Jordan: It was such an amazing experience! Men's Wearhouse helped turn my dreams into a reality!
TWIST: What was your experience like going to real-life prom?
SM: It was a lot of fun just being with all my friends and dancing the night away!
DJ: I've actually never been to a real-life prom before.
TWIST: Were you invited via an elaborate promposal?
SM: The guy just held up a poster that said "Prom?"... Sooo it wasn't super elaborate but he still put in effort which was cool.
DJ: No, but I wish! Anyone who gets invited via an elaborate promposal is very lucky!
TWIST: What would your dream promposal situation be?
**SM: Probably the one Dylan and I did for Men's Wearhouse. It was crazy and had a lot of people involved. If you want to see everything that happened, it's on both of our YouTube channels!
DJ: My recent promposal with Summer! Nothing beats that in my book.
TWIST: Are there any lessons or tips you learned from going to prom you'll keep in mind for this year?
SM: Just relax and don't stress about anything, because the night is all about having fun and you should never worry too much about small details.
DJ: Many of my friends have told me to not worry about everything being "perfect". I heard that prom is most fun when you enjoy the moment for what it is!
TWIST: Did you find the process of picking out prom outfits to be stressful or a total breeze?
DJ: I found the process of picking out my prom outfit to be a total breeze! With the help of Men's Wearhouse, I was able to find a sweet tux that I loved.
SM: It was a little stressful because there are so many different dresses to choose from and you want to look your best, so that can be hard. But overall, the whole experience is super fun.
TWIST: What are some tips you would give someone who's getting ready for their first-ever prom?
SM: A lot of people have crazy expectations for prom if they've never been before that they probably take from movies or something like that, but I say don't have any expectations, because it makes the whole experience better and honestly less stressful. Prom is always fun no matter what.
DJ: My best advice for anyone getting ready for their first prom would be to not have any expectations. Enjoy the moment and the company that you're with.
TWIST: Do you think it's more fun to go to a school dance with a BF/GF, a casual date, or your group of friends?
DJ: I think it's totally up to the individual in regards to who they find most fun to attend school dances with! Personally, I love going with Summer and a group of friends.
SM: Just go with your favorite people! That's how you'll have the best time ever.
TWIST: Who would your dream celeb prom date be?
DJ: My dream celeb prom date would be Selena Gomez!
SM: Maybe Justin Bieber – but I'd still probably choose Dylan over him.
TWIST: And just for fun, what's your favorite prom scene from a movie?
DJ: The dance from Pretty in Pink is definitely my favorite prom scene from a movie!
SM: Probably High School Musical's prom scene. That's a classic.
