We're all about body peace, and accepting yourself for whatever size, shape, or color you are. But in order to love yourself, you don't have to feel the pressure to be 100% happy about every single aspect of your appearance either – because come on, that's pretty unrealistic too.
Rowan Blanchard took to Twitter to challenge the idea that loving yourself is an all-or-nothing sort of deal, explaining that body positivity doesn't have to mean striving for or expecting complete flawlessness in any way.
ooh let's be careful that the body posi movement isn't "luv every inch of ur body & know u r flawless" bc that is vv difficult & unrealistic— Rowan Blanchard (@rowblanchard) March 9, 2016
my problem w most media (spec magazines & tv) is that it always seems that u must hate ur body or be v carefree and love every inch of it— Rowan Blanchard (@rowblanchard) March 9, 2016
It takes a lot of time to learn how to be comfortable in your own skin, but it helps to think that your goal is actually to cut down on the self-deprecating hate and treat yourself and your body right, instead of trying to be completely worry-free.
