If you follow Rowan Blanchard on social media, then you know the actress uses her platform to spread awareness about social justice issues that are going on in our country. Tomorrow is International Women's Day 2017, formerly known as International Working Women's Day, and Rowan's latest Instagram post highlights the meaning behind this day – specifically, how one can support tomorrow's "A Day Without a Woman General Strike."
The Girl Meets World star took to social media to let her followers know how they can make a difference on this day intended to acknowledge the value of working women in the United States.
"Thinking about the #DayWithoutAWoman this Wednesday 📓 if you are able to, do not show up from any paid or unpaid work 🚺 if you cannot afford to or are not in a position to strike altogether, wear red in solidarity and only spend money if the business is owned by a woman/minority ☎️ the time now is show what will happen if our workforce didn't have women for a day ⏰ What would happen if our money was redirected from big business to independent, local business? If we showed, that a #DayWithoutAWoman is a day without America? 📌 the time now is to put our 💰 where our mouth is 👀 support the strike Wednesday and participate if you can 🔌 @womensmarch 📡 repost and spread the word 🔨," the Invisible Sister actress shared with her followers.
This isn't the first time Rowan publicly fought for what she believes in. When attending the Women's March in Los Angeles last month, the actress made a powerful speech. And in true GMW family fashion, August Maturo's mother uploaded the video to YouTube to support both Rowan and her meaningful message.
