Roshon is dropping a whole lot of exciting news on us right now: not only did the singer just announce his own new single, "So Bad," but he just announced that he has started his very own record label called ELEVATE. The former Shake It Up actor signed two awesome new artists, Alexiis, and Jaxon to the brand's roster – and when TWIST caught up with the star, he explains that he's really on a mission to elevate new talent and inspiring artists with this new venture.
"I wanted to do something not just for me, but for all artists that want to elevate," Roshon tells us exclusively. "Elevate their music careers, elevate their lives, and so ELEVATE was born."
"Jaxon actually moved to LA like two years ago, he's from Houston, Texas. He's a fresh face in the music game and the entertainment business, and he came to one of the warehouse functions that I have, where a lot of friends and people come by my studio," Roshon tells us about finding his first ELEVATE artist. "He said to me, 'yo, I'm a big fan of yours, cause I've watched your stuff on TV, and I love your music.' I've heard that quite a few times in my life, but people don't really do music but they want to do music. So I not-smartly shrugged him off, and for a year straight I kept an eye on his Soundcloud, and I saw how diligent and how focused of an artist he really was. I saw his growth process, and I became a fan of that. I knew I had to lock him down."
Through Jaxon, Roshon met Alexiis. "I heard her sound and I was blown away," Roshon tells us about his first-listen. "Her texture in her voice, for how young she is, she has true presence and amazing, amazing sound."
We're so excited to see how ELEVATE grows!
