Chances are, a few episodes into the new Disney Channel series MECH-X4, you're already coming to love Raymond Cham and his new character, Mark Walker. Well, this weekend's episode of the show, "Let's Survive In the Woods!" is going to highlight several of Raymond's real-life talents that you may not have known about – like dancing!
For example, did you realize that Raymond is the actor who played Devon in Teen Beach 2, and he's actually a pro dancer? He's even in a crew with some other stars you may recognize.
"X-Mob is the name of our crew. There are five members including myself, Taj Speights (Krash), Lauryn Speights (ILL Boogie), Tyler White (Ty-Ski), and Cameron Boyce (The Truth)," Raymond, who goes by Prada-G tells TWIST. "We've been a crew since 2010."
"I’ve known Cameron since he was in kindergarten and the other crew members have known him for around seven or eight years. It’s safe to say we are a family," he explains. "We hang out whenever we can. We used to battle at events pretty often but we’ve all been focusing on acting and unfortunately haven’t been able to battle for a while. But maybe soon…"
So what was it like showing off his dance skills in a MECH-X4 episode?
"Shooting that scene was exciting," Raymond dishes. "I remember reading that scene in the script and I was stoked. I haven’t danced in a while and to be able to do it on the show was great."
You'll also be able to see Raymond's martial arts skills in this episode, because his character faces off against one of Principle Grey's henchmen.
"Fighting Davage (John DeSantis) in the robot was intimidating for obvious reasons - he’s 6’11. Mark has the home court advantage but Davage is a more than worthy adversary," Raymond says. "I think these two scenes were great because as an audience member, you’re worried. What is Mark going to do? How long can he play this game of cat and mouse before the cat gets angry?"
