You may know Patina Miller as the fierce character, Commander Paylor in both parts of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, and it turns out that she's just as bold and confident in real life. It's something that she's worked hard at over the years. TWIST caught up with the actress on the New York City red carpet premiere of Part 2 of the film, and we asked her to share some advice that she'd love to go back in time and tell her younger self.
"I'd tell my teenage self to calm down, things are going to be okay," Patina tells TWIST exclusively. "Be confident and be who you want to be. Growing up, sometimes you're unsure of yourself, part of finding your way is believing in yourself and pushing yourself to be the best that you can be."
The actress also shared some role models who were very important to her growing up, and she cited her mom as the inspiration for the wisdom she passed along to us.
"My mother really taught me to believe in myself, and she taught me that if I wanted something hard enough and really worked at it, that I could have it," she shares. "For me, she and my grandmother were big role models because they pushed me to be who I am today." How inspiring!
