Modern Family actor Nolan Gould recently attended a PlayStation Experience event to preview Destiny's new winter game content. TWIST caught up with him to discuss “The Dawning,” a three-week winter event starting today, December 13, which will be for all players of the newest expansion, Destiny: Rise of Iron. We also got the scoop on his latest projects, his holiday plans, and more. Catch our exclusive Q & A below.
TWIST: What was it like attending the PlayStation Experience recently? Would you consider yourself a superfan?
Nolan Gould: I had a blast attending the PlayStation Experience! It's an entire convention center filled with video games that haven't come out yet. It's really gamer heaven. Plus, I got to play some of the new content (“The Dawning”) for one of my favorite games, Destiny.
Does spending 300 hours playing one game make you a super fan? Yeah, it probably does.
TWIST: What's your favorite part of the game?
NG: My favorite part of the game is definitely playing with friends! Whenever new content drops we will literally clear our schedules and spend all day and all night playing together. I'm generally the one who puts the team on my back.
TWIST: What can you tell us about your upcoming projects?
NG: I'm just working on Modern Family at the moment. My day job keeps me pretty busy. But we have some amazing episodes coming up, so make sure to stay tuned.
TWIST: What's your proudest moment or best memory from 2016?
NG: Turning 18! The teenage years can be rough, but I made it through! I had some great times as a teen, but I'm looking forward to being a little more of an adult. Now if only my TV sisters would stop calling me "baby brother".
TWIST: What are you most excited about that's coming up in 2017?
NG: I plan on doing a lot of traveling this next year! I'm actually spending the first week of the new year traveling with my TV sis Ariel [Winter] on a little Modern Family vacation.
TWIST: What are your favorite holiday foods and traditions?
NG: My favorite holiday foods are stuffing, sweet potatoes, and any flavor of pie. And my favorite tradition is eating those foods.
TWIST: And just for fun, if you were a food, what would you be and why?
NG: Probably tofu. I eat so much of it, I'm basically 50% tofu already.
Destiny: Rise of Iron is also available this holiday season as part of Destiny – The Collection, an all-in-one package featuring the original Destiny game plus all four expansions to date. Let us know what you think of Nolan's stories by commenting below!
