This weekend's upcoming Radio Disney Music Awards are a big deal for Noah Cyrus: not only is it the 17-year-old singer's first time attending the awards show, but she's performing at the event and is nominated for two of her own! (Her single "Make Me (Cry)" is in the running for Best Breakup Song and she's nominated for Best New Artist.) Talk about starting things off on a high note. To celebrate her incredible RDMA weekend ahead, TWIST caught up with the star to find out what she could share about her appearance on the televised show.
When we asked Noah what we can expect to see from her undoubtedly awesome stage costumes, she kept tight-lipped – but revealed the inspiration behind her look.
"My outfits will definitely be inspired by [my song] “Make Me (Cry)”. But the looks need to be a surprise," she shares.
Performing onstage and putting her music out there is all clearly in her blood, but it still takes a lot of confidence to get out in front of audiences. Noah was able to spill on was some advice she would tell her younger self, especially now that she can look back on it from a wiser place.
"I probably would tell my 14-year old self to stop reading those mean comments on Instagram and to stop crying over Perez Hilton and mean blogs because that’s all I did at 14," she tells us exclusively. "If I would’ve known then what I know now… which is none of that stuff really matters. "I definitely wish I could go back in time and give the 14-year old me more confidence and build up what those mean people tore down."
That's some solid advice no matter what you're going through.
