Meghan Trainor appeared on Ellen Degeneres' show yesterday and gave her very first interview since cancelling her tour for health reasons and undergoing major vocal chord surgery. The "All About That Bass" singer recalled exactly how she first noticed that something was wrong with her voice – and how she's doing in recovery.
"I was on tour, and I was on top of the world, and I had everything," Meghan shared. "[Then] I went to rehearsals... for another tour I was going on, and I noticed right away that it hurt to speak. And I knew... that can't be good."
Meghan's doctors told her that she could either rest for four months and not speak at all, or have surgery to heal her issue – which turned out to be vocal chord hemmorhaging – and she decided that she couldn't be silent for that amount of time.
But now, after her surgery, Meg is feeling better, and she's back to doing what she loves most: writing new music!
