Lexy Kolker is certainly busy! You may know her best as the little sister of Girl Meets World actress Ava Kolker, but Lexy is seriously making her own mark right now. When TWIST had the chance to talk to the actress about all of her upcoming projects, along with her current role on USA's new series, Shooter, we were blown away by how many different ways we'll soon be able to see her acting skills. Check out our exclusive Q&A with Lexy below.
TWIST: What is it like on the set of Shooter?
Lexy Kolker: I love it. It’s very cool because I do so many different things on set. Sometimes, I have to do hard things like run fast with my dad or hide or do a lot of stuff I haven’t had to do in acting before.
TWIST: Can you tell us about all the other upcoming projects you're busy working on now?
LK: Sure, other than Shooter, I have an E-Bay commercial running right now. I also have a few movies coming out in the next year like Female Fight Club with Dolph Lungren, Our little Secret, and A Little Mermaid with William Moseley and Shirley MacLaine.
TWIST: When did you first know you wanted to be an actress?
LK: I knew I wanted to be an actress when I was 5 years old because I was watching my sister and she inspired me to act, so I wanted to try it too.
TWIST: What's your favorite part about being an actress?
LK: My favorite part is I get to experience a lot, and travel, and meet new people and have fun and do things I have never done before. And I hope to bring people joy and make them smile.
TWIST: What's the best advice you've received from another actor you've worked with?
LK: Probably when Shantel VanSanten told me to keep practicing scenes that were tough for me because “acting is like a muscle”, and you have to work at it.
TWIST: Have you gotten any advice from your sister Ava?
LK: Yes, she always tells me to be myself, have fun with the part, and keep going no matter what.
TWIST: Can you tell us about Little Mermaid and what it was like working on that?
LK: It’s a great family movie that I know everyone will love. Filming it was so fun, I went to Savannah, Georgia and worked on scenes with Shirley MacLaine in a house on the beach. She was so amazing and I know she is a legend, so I couldn’t believe I got to work with her.
TWIST: Do you have any holiday traditions that you love celebrating with your family?
LK: Yes, we love to decorate for Christmas and we go see the lights in the neighborhood, and have hot chocolate and funnel cakes. We always leave cookies and milk and a note for Santa. He always writes us back too.
TWIST: What's something you're most thankful for this holiday season?
LK: I am thankful for my family, and for all the people who support me, and for my sisters and my pets. I am just grateful and happy.
