Did you know that cigarette butts are the most littered object on earth? Not only is smoking directly harmful to your health, but the toxic chemicals in the trash left behind are seriously damaging the environemnt. Rapper Jake Miller has just launched a new campaign with DoSomething and truth to get us all hyped to cleaning up the mess left behind by cigarette trash – and bringing tobacco use way down in general.
TWIST caught up with the artist to talk about his campaign, and he had great advice for dealing with peer pressure: whether your friends are egging you on to start smoking or any other activity you're not so sure about, he has some inspiring words.
"For anyone dealing with peer pressure, I would just say listen to your heart," Jake tells us. "You know what's best for yourself, no matter who's making fun of you or what kind of stuff you hear about yourself from other people, if you don't want to do something, just stay true to yourself. One day you'll look back at it and be proud of yourself."
That's some solid advice.
