One of the things that we love most about Jaden Smith's fashion sense is that he's a total trendsetter – and he's never afraid of what other people may think of his styles. His latest looks are all about pushing gender boundaries with clothing, and he has made skirt-like bottoms and super long tunic tops some of his signature pieces – and even models them in new Louis Vuitton campaigns.
In a new interview with Nylon, the star, who is actually celebrating his 18th birthday today, dished all about this style. He said that he knows that he's just ahead of the times on this style, and he doesn't mind if it takes people a minute to catch up to him.
"The world is going to keep bashing me for whatever I do, and I’m going to keep not caring, I’m taking the brunt of it so that later on, my kids and the next generations of kids will all think that certain things are normal that weren’t expected before my time," he said about the look. "You just have to believe in yourself, you know."
He explained that he's trying to make the style more visible so that “in five years when a kid goes to school wearing a skirt, he won’t get beat up and kids won’t get mad at him."
We're all about any positive changes made to the world – especially this one, through fashion!
