Ever since we first heard that High School Musical 4 is officially happening and a huge casting search will be underway to scout new talent, we've had precisely two things on our minds: 1) how can we audition for the new Disney Channel movie, and 2) if we're not the ones starring in the production, who will be?
Well, Disney just released some crucial new information about how the casting process is going to work, and where you can audition.
"A High School Musical 4 open casting search via the Disney Applause App will begin on MONDAY, APRIL 18 for young actors, singers and dancers ages 14-17," Disney announced in a press release. "Video auditions will be accepted through Monday, May 2, via the Disney Applause App, available on both iOS and Android. Guidelines on how to submit the audition video and a brief scene will be available at www.DisneyChannel.com/opencall on Monday, April 18. Applicants must receive permission from a parent or legal guardian before participating. The audition is not a contest. There is no guarantee of employment. There will never be a fee to audition for "High School Musical 4" or any Disney Channel talent search."
"High School Musical 4 will continue the story of High School Musical and introduce new East High Wildcats and their cross-town school rivals, the West High Knights," the press statement said.
"DGA Award nominee Jeffrey Hornaday (Disney Channel's Teen Beach Movie, Teen Beach 2) will direct and choreograph the movie. The casting directors are Jason La Padura, C.S.A., Natalie Hart, C.S.A., and Kendra Patterson, C.S.A., of LaPadura/Hart/Patterson. Dan Berendsen (creator/executive producer of Freeform's Baby Daddy, writer of Disney's Hannah Montana: The Movie, Teen Beach 2" and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie) and Peter Barsocchini (writer of all three High School Musical movies) are the screenwriters of High School Musical 4. Bill Borden and Barry Rosenbush return as the executive producers."
