G. Hannelius teased fans last month that she had something big in the works and it was just announced she is set to already make her return to TV. The actress will be starring in Roots, a remake of the well-known 1977 version of the epic eight-part miniseries. It is "a historical portrait of slavery recounting the journey of one family’s will to survive, endure and ultimately carry on their legacy despite enormous hardship and inhumanity," according to a plot synopsis. G. took to Instagram to share the big news, writing a sweet message.
"I'm so thrilled to announce a project I'm so excited to be apart of! A+E's eight-hour event miniseries Roots, a remake of the iconic 1977 version. I play Missy Waller, the daughter of John Waller. Beyond honored to be working along side such an incredible cast in this special project. ❤️" she wrote.
This is definitely going to be a more dramatic role for the actress, since we're used to seeing her star in more comedic shows, like Dog With a Blog. It's going to be a whole new side of G!
