Meghan Trainor is one fierce and confident girl now, singing about her curves and loving her figure, but the "All About That Bass" singer wasn't always so comfortable embracing her body. Her close friends and family revealed in a new interview that her insecurities used to get in the way of her having fun with friends.
“I consider Meghan to be normal size, but when she was younger she was self-conscious about her body," her dad, Gary Trainor, told The Daily Mail. "She wouldn’t go to pool parties as she didn’t want to be the only girl in a one piece swimsuit when all the others were in a bikini.”
"There is so much pressure on young girls to look slim," her childhood friend Ashley Symer told the site. "If we were going to the beach Meghan didn’t want to go because she wouldn’t be wearing a bikini and the other girls would. Meghan eventually realized that she didn’t have to bother to lose weight, that she did not have to change."
