When TWIST exclusively caught up with the singers, we asked them what they're feeling like now that their official music release is actually on the horizon.
"It's amazing!" Dove dishes.
"Yeah, really exciting," Ryan adds. "Just because our schedules are so jam-packed and there’s so much going on in both of our world’s individually, but also with music, [it takes a lot of planning] to make anything happen. So, we’ve been planning and talking about it conceptualizing this EP for like, what, eight months now? So, this is a big deal for us. This is a lot of work finally coming to the end, which is really exciting."
The duo can't wait to hear what you – the dedicated fans! – think about the tracks they've been working on for ages.
"It’s just been so long that we have been the only people who have heard this music that I’m really excited to see what [fans have to] say, what they like, what they’re attracted to," Dove tells us. "Even though we’re really writing music for ourselves, we’re also writing it for our fans. So, you know, it’s going to be cool. It’s like sharing a picture that you drew at school that you’re really proud of with your mom. It’s like, you know what, you want the people that you care about’s opinions, you know, you’re interested. You’re excited!"
You wanted music. We wrote it. You wanted merch. We made it. We will always listen to you, we will always love you xoGDC #KEEPCATCHINGDREAMS— Girl&TheDreamcatcher (@TGATDC) July 27, 2016
"And also, every time we release something new, we dare a little bit more, we take a few more risks with the brand of our music that we’re going for," Ryan adds. "Negatives is no exception to that rule. All of the songs on Negatives, we’re just pushing the envelope a little bit more. We try to develop our sound and I think we’re both really eager to hear the fans’ reactions in that way too."
