Chelsea Kane has learned a lot about herself from playing her character, Riley, on ABC Family's comedy, Baby Daddy. Riley always holds her own when she's in the midst of a rowdy group of guys, laughs off her mistakes and embraces her imperfections - and Chelsea told TWIST that she has recently started doing the same thing.
"I’ve learned to not take myself so seriously," she told us exclusively about working on the show. "Week-to-week, I’m either painted orange or put in a fat suit, or thrown out a window, or stuck in a rainstorm. [I work] with three boys my age. They don’t let me get away with anything. If I say something stupid on set, it doesn’t go unnoticed. They make fun of me for it for weeks and when you’re around comedy writers, it’s the same thing."
Chelsea admits that years ago, she would have been really bothered by this kind of reaction, but now she's embracing it. "Growing up, I always wanted to be the best in everything and do everything right," she explained. "If someone made fun of me at school, it was soul-crushing. And now, through this experience [working on Baby Daddy], I’ve sort of learned to roll with the punches and just have a sense of humor about myself."
We love that she's having fun and not letting the pressure to be perfect get to her!
