Hunter & Gatti
Do you ever hear someone give you a piece of advice, but you really don't want to actually listen to them? Like someone tells you that your school's mandatory summer reading project is actually going to be tons of fun, and you just stare at them in utter disbelief? Well, when TWIST chatted with singer Camryn, she explained that following some advice she was pretty skeptical about lead to a really creative musical project!
"I believe the best advice is only 'the best' when it’s being given at the right time," Camryn tells us exclusively. "My teacher said always be open minded because you never know where your next big idea will come from."
Camryn explains that the inspiration for her latest video for her song "Machine" actually came about because she was being open to new things and some unexpected advice.
"When in school, reading 'teacher selected' books can be - well - awful and boring, and when my teacher said that the next book for us was 1984 by George Orwell, I thought it would be exactly that - boring. Turns out, I loved that book and even wrote my music video treatment for "Machines" about 1984," she explains. "You really never know where inspiration will strike!"
So does the singer have any words of wisdom for her own younger self, now that she's all the wiser?
"I would tell myself to stop stressing over the little things in life. Don't let anyone else tell you who you are inside! In the end, things will work out the way they are supposed to so stop freaking yourself out!" she shares.
We're all about that!
