Bera knows that he doesn't look like everyone else. ("If you look at me, you can't really tell [where I'm from]. I'm from another planet, you know what I'm saying!? Nobody can ever really figure out where I'm from," he tells us.) But he's totally okay with it. In fact, when TWIST caught up with the singer, we asked him to dish on if he's ever felt insecure about anything about himself, and we were surprised by the power of his confidence in his answer.
"Actually, [I] never [have]. The way my parents raised me, they always taught me that I always had to be proud of who I am and embrace the way I was and that's the only way I could be successful and accomplished and respected," Bera tells TWIST exclusively. "So I think that if you know your worth, and you know how great you can be just by being yourself, there's nothing better you can do. Other people will have to see it sooner or later, so I think that no one should have any insecurities."
"If you think about it, if we weren't different, then we'd all be the same," Bera explains. "We'd be so boring. Now, I have a little brother that looks just like me. So I'm really happy to be here for him. Honestly, I didn't have any insecurities, but growing up, I was the only one around who looked the way I do. So I was never insecure, it never really bothered me, but that was really weird at times in school. There was a few moments, of course...and now my little brother, he has me."
Bera shares that being a big brother has made him realize how important it is to be a role model for others.
"Being a good brother, to me, is better than being a superhero," Bera shares. "Actually, we watch all the Marvel movies and all the stuff together. That's why I'm in superhero mode right now. We just watched all the Spider-Mans the last couple of days. For me, just to be here for him, for him to see that there are people who can love me for the way that I am. That I can have some success on my level, being who I am. I think that gives him a lot of strength and confidence growing up. He's ten years old. He's definitely the one I do it for."
That's literally the cutest!
