We're beauty product junkies over here at Twist. We love trying new eye shadows, lip balms, moisturizers, toners, serums, nail polishes, liners ... we think you get the idea. So for us to use the same product twice, it means we really love it -- and Willa Skincare is one of those brands we keep coming back to.
We're not just obsessed with Willa because the products themselves are awesome, but also for another reason. The line was founded by a girl just like you! Willa, who just turned 13 years old, came up with the idea four years ago.
"I was taking a bath when I asked my mom, 'Why isn't there anything for me?'" Willa tells Twist. "All I had was my little sister's baby products and my mom's, which were way too harsh for my skin. I didn't have anything that didn't smell like bubblegum or strawberry."
That's when Willa and her mom set out to create a line of all-natural beauty products for young girls that are fun, but still luxurious.
Willa's must-have products are the brand's Foaming Face Wash and Face Friendly Moisturizer, but her all-time fav is the Face the Day SPF 30 Sunblock. "Most kids hate sunblock -- at least the sticky, gooey, oily white stuff we have to wear during the summertime," the young entrepreneur explains. "So when we created Willa, I knew we needed an alternative. [Ours] goes on dry -- it feels like a powder -- and blends in with every skin tone"
But just because she is running a business, Willa's main priority is school. And she always makes time to hang out with her friends, too -- she just sneaks in some work stuff. "All my friends are so supportive and love helping out," she says. "I invite [them] over and all we do is just hang out, test products and packaging. It is awesome." Sounds like it!
