While we still have to wait a few more months until we can hear all of 5 Seconds of Summer's new music, they are keeping us on our toes, pretty much talking about how great their second album Sounds Good Feels Good is going to be. At the band's Vevo Certified Live show, they spoke about just how much their style has changed, and how this music will be much different than their debut album.
"Sounds Good Feels Good is not the same as the last album at all," Ashton Irwin said. "It's very personal to us. The writing is a lot more emotional and explores different subjects that we haven't written about before. It really connects with us emotionally. We talk about childhood, we even touch on parents' divorce and stuff like that as well. We touch on love, heartbreak, loneliness, depression, anxiety — all types of stuff."
It's so interesting that Ashton, along with Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood and Michael Clifford really decided to dig deeper with this new record and write about serious and more emotional topics that anyone can relate to in some way. Looks like they'll be dishing out some life advice, all set to some catchy tunes. We can't ask for anything more.
