TWIST: Hey, Mathias! Tell us about your new movie, School Gyrls, and your character in the film?
Mathias: So the movie School Gyrls is based around a group of girls who are an up and coming pop group. I play the role of Colin, which is the quarterback jock in the school. He's friends with everybody in the school, so its un-like that stereotypical jerk jock character. He helps the girls form this group, and they get to be really good friends. There were a lot of people in the movie. Justin Bieber was in the movie. He got to do a musical appearance; he was a really cool guy too.
TWIST: How was it working with all the girls- Mandy, Monica, and Jacque?
Mathias: It was a lot of fun because from the beginning, even before we filmed, we were all really good friends. We did some things together. We went bowling with Justin and everybody, so that was a lot of fun. We all aren't very good at bowling, but that's what made it fun. It was because we just got to be ourselves and got to learn a little bit more about each other.
TWIST: You just dropped your first single and are now recording your debut album. Who has been your biggest musical influence for this album?
Mathias: My album was based around a lot of different people. I've listened to everything since I've been growing up. I listened to reggae, jazz, pop, R&B. I'm really big into Jesse McCartney right now and his kind of style. He mixes everything from that jazz feel to reggae to the R&B, so I'm definitely looking to base some stuff around him and hope to work with him someday.
TWIST: That sounds great. Tell us, if a girl is trying to figure out if a guy likes her, what signs or signals should she look for from him?
Mathias: I think, for me especially, its kind of one of those things where you're just being natural and just joking around. I think guys can really respond to somebody who can make them laugh. Guys like to be goofy, if girls are goofy too that means it lightens the atmosphere a bit. Just try to be yourself and don't be somebody you're not, for sure. Guys respond to that really well. I know I do. (Laughs)!
