Remember last year's hit song, Check yes, Juliet? Well, good news. We The Kings are back with a new CD called Smile, Kid and the songs are just as infectious as on the first one. When TWIST hung out with the band, they had as much to say about love as they did their new single, Heaven Can Wait. Check it out by clicking "read more!"
Shakira is back on the charts with hits from her latest album She Wolf (in stores now!). PopEater.com sat down with the performer to talk about her album and her huge success during the last few years.
Shakira spilled that she's planning a tour, and is mostly looking forward to seeing how fans react during her shows! "Of course you want people to enjoy your work. And nothing would make me more happier as an artist than knowing that people are having fun with this album and the music I've created," she spills. "If they can forget about their troubles for ten seconds while they are listening to one of my songs, I would be absolutely fulfilled and satisfied as an artist," Shakira added.
Tell TWIST, did you pick up Shakira's album last week? What's your fave Shakira song? Let's talk in the comments!
TWIST recently had the chance to catch up with, Nikki Blonsky one of the stars of MTV's, Valemont. In case you've missed it, the show is a really fun, interactive experience, full of mystery and vampire fun! We all know you can never have enough vampires! You can click here to check out the episodes you've missed, and click here to apply to become an actual Valemont student! If you haven't had a chance to see the show, the finale is this Friday on MTV. Keep reading as Nikki tells us more about the show, Hairspray 2 and kissing Zac Efron! Be sure to check out her video where she tells us about one of her favorite memories with her BFF!
TWIST: Can you tell us a little bit about Valemont and your character? What exactly is going on?
NB: Well, my character's name is Poppy. Poppy Barker, and she enrolls in Valemont because it's one of the most prestigious universities. She wants to go to one of the best schools. So, she enrolls and she doesn't know that she has enrolled herself at a school for vampires. It's actually cool because it's a college where vampires go to learn how to live amongst the human race and how to suppress their hunger for human blood and all that good stuff.
TWIST: It seems a little more on the dark side compared to the stuff that you normally do like Hairspray and Queen Sized.
NB: Yeah, that's kind of why I wanted to do it. I've read the script and I loved it. And I've read the character description and I just fell in love with, Poppy. You know, I've been fortunate. I've gotten the opportunity to play a lot of fun characters that are out there and bubbly and having a good time and we're singing and dancing, but this script had no singing and dancing. It was about vampires and it was about you know, the dark side. So I kind of wanted to cross over to the dark side and see what it was like for a little while, and it was cool.
TWIST: I don't know if you're able to talk about it, but they just announced their filming Hairspray 2. Do you know anything about that?
NB: I learn as the fans do. Honest to God, I don't get any special treatment. I found out about Hairspray 2 when something was up on my website when a fan wrote in, "Check your IMDB," and I checked it and it said Hairspray 2, Tracy Turnblad. I was just like, oh, guess we're making it. I did speak to the director, Adam Shankman, he's been twittering a lot about it, so yeah. It's happening.
TWIST: Do you think they're going to be able to get the cast back?
NB: I know that I just spoke to Amanda the other day, and I know that me and her, honestly, what you see on camera as Tracy and Penny, we're like that in real life, like Nikki and Amanda we're just crazy. We definitely would love to play Tracy and Penny again. I know that Zac would totally be down for it as well because we can't have anybody but the Link Larkin. He's the only one that makes Tracy's heart beat. So, yeah I think they would be able to get everybody back, everybody that would really be important to the story line that they're writing for the second one.
TWIST: Can you tell us about your most embarrassing moment?
NB: I guess, it's kind of embarrassing but Zac and I were doing a kissing scene in Hairspray and we didn't hear the director yell cut. So, we went on for like four minutes and it was kind of embarrassing to turn around and see all the backup dancers with their arms folded. They kind of looked at us and just said, "Are you done yet?" And I was just like, "I didn't hear anybody say cut, like guys you know, use the megaphone, be a little louder!" That was kind of embarrassing.
Are you a Gleek, too? We definitely are, so we were stoked when we got the chance to meet two of the stars of Glee! P.S. Dianna said she wants to sing a song by Laura Marling! Shortly after, we YouTube'd Laura to hear her sound and we totally agree with Dianna -- she definitely rocks!

TWIST recently caught up with the cute Brit Freddie Highmore, star of the upcoming movie Astro Boy. Freddie voices the title character, who is a futuristic robot searching for acceptance after being rejected by the scientist who created him. The movie is full of Astro Boy's adventures of learning who and what he is. Talk about the surprise you'd have if you found out you had super-powers!
Check out the trailer below, and then read our exclusive interview with Freddie, where we talk about the movie, girls and Halloween (he might need your help coming up with a costume!). Give him ideas in the comments!
XO,
Intern Kelly
TWIST: Hi Freddie! First, tell us a little bit about Astro Boy?
Freddie: Well, Toby was the son of Dr. Tenema and he dies at a young age. So the doctor creates Astro Boy, who is a robot, to replace his son, Toby.
TWIST: How did you relate to Astro Boy?
Freddie: I think everyone has something in common with Astro Boy. It's just, he's so relatable. And he has this energy in him that's just purely positive. He is just good and everyone can find something in common with him, especially with how he is a robot and he just wants to fit in, you know?
TWIST: Do you have a particular favorite scene or part of the film?
Freddie: I really liked the whole film. I actually watched it the other day and the climax is really great. Of course, I can't really give too much away about that, but yeah, it's just really great, because it's not just action -- it has really emotional parts as well as funny parts. Its great for kids and parents because kids will love it, and the parents won't be bored either.
TWIST: OK, so you're 17? Have you started to date yet?
Freddie: Yeah, but it's kind of difficult to date and have a relationship. Not just with girls, but also with my family. I mean, I don't even get to see my family everyday, so having a relationship is even more difficult.
TWIST: And Halloween is just around the corner, so do you have any great memories you can share? Like, anything with a crush?
Freddie: Everyone asks about Halloween! I usually went out with my brother every year around the area that we lived. I guess you guys have to sort of be ahead of the game, but not any particular ones. I guess I remember my first costume. It was just a sheet really with holes that I cut for my eyes and I was a ghost!
