If you're a dedicated Directioner and your emotions aren't flip-flopping back and forth on the daily, we're going to need to take lessons from you on how to maintain calm at all times. The latest tweet that is testing our ability to keep our chill is the one Zayn Malik sent out after One Direction debuted their new song, "Drag Me Down."
We love the catchy track, which just so happens to be the first 1D song released since Zayn's departure from the band and the beginning of a distinct new sound for the group. It seems that Zayn is also a fan of the song, because he sent "big love" to his former band members on Twitter after hearing it.
Why is this one tweet so ridiculously important? Not only is it sweet that Zayn is publicly supporting the guys and reconnecting with his friends, but it also complicates the drama storm that has been happening over the past week. One Direction released their new single the very same week that Zayn Twitter-announced that he signed a solo record deal with RCA - all while shading the group by saying he was now ready to make #RealMusic. The songs itself reveals in the lyrics that 1D isn't about to let anything drag them down - which we're definitely interpreting as a shade to Zayn.
Even though our hearts are exploding with conflicting emotions, for now we're super happy that Zayn is proud of the guys and supporting their new direction as he's pursuing his own.
