Remember when Vanessa Marano considered switching up her look in a big, dramatic way by debuting a transformative new hair makeover? Well, that time is officially now. The actress just chopped her once mermaid-esque long curls into a shorter, shoulder-length style – and it's all for a really exciting upcoming project.
Vanessa posted a Boomerang in an Instagram video that shows off her new length.
Later, she posted a video showing that she sectioned off long portions of hair before cutting it – likely so she could donate it.
Talk about a serious transformation! Just days earlier, Vanessa's curls cascaded down to her waist, so this is a very noticeable chop.
Vanessa's mom Ellen shared another photo that showcases the new style, and thanks Salon By Maxime for getting her daughter in character.
As it turns out, Vanessa ended up cutting her hair for her highly-anticipated role in the movie Saving Zoe that she will be acting in with her younger sister Laura Marano. The film is based off of the Alyson Noël young adult novel of the same name, which follows the story of fifteen-year-old Echo, who is still reeling from the aftermath of her older sister Zoe's murder.
This project has been in the works for several years now, so it's really exciting to see that the actresses are starting to get into character and work on it. The book's author is equally thrilled, and even tweeted about V's movie makeover herself.
As an added bonus, Vanessa's shorter hairstyle looks just like Laura's own new super-short hair makeover. We can't wait to see the talented siblings share the screen together – and their mom says we should all be hearing more updates about the project's progress soon.
