TWIST just chatted with Keke Palmer! Keke gave us the deets on her role in the Dove Self-Esteem Weekend, which kicks off tomorrow in Times Square in New York. She even dished about her new EP! Check out the exclusive convo below. Plus for Bella Thorne's insecurity growing up, check out the October/ November Issue of TWIST!
TWIST: Tell us about your work with Dove Self-Esteem Weekend?
Keke Palmer: I'm working with Dove on their third annual Self-Esteem Weekend on October 5th and 6th. It's an initiative to encourage people to help younger girls have a more positive relationship with beauty.
TWIST: What do you think is the biggest problem facing girls today?
Keke Palmer: There are so many things on TV telling you what you should look like, so the fact that you don't even look close to half the girls on TV makes you feel so small. Inner beauty should really be the focus because if you focus on how you are on the inside, the outside will come together.
TWIST: What tips can you give our readers on how to boost their self-confidence on a down day?
Keke Palmer: Do something fun or help out somewhere! Maybe volunteer at an old folks home or help your little brothers and sisters with their homework. Doing something good for someone will always help you feel good about yourself!
TWIST: Can you tell us about your new EP?
Keke Palmer: I had been working on it for a while and finally it's out and I'm so excited! I have my second single that's out called "Dance Alone" and it's a young adult EP talking about any and everything.
TWIST: You also have a Lifetime movie coming out.
Keke Palmer: Yes, Abducted: The Carlina White Story comes out this Saturday, October 6th. It's a true story about a girl who was abducted as a baby and then found her parents when she was 23 years old. There's a struggle between two mothers and how they deal with what's happening to them.
TWIST: Can you tell our readers why they should tune in to Abducted?
Keke Palmer: It's a movie that'll make them think about what they have and make them grateful for the life they have.
TWIST: Can you tell us what's next for you?
Keke Palmer: Yes, I'm just working on my music and working with Dove!
TWIST: Thanks for chatting with us Keke!
Keke Palmer: Thanks TWIST!
