Hey TWIST Readers!
We just chatted with an up-and-coming heartthrob in the making, 16 year old, Jack Skuller! This cutie balances school and singing with his EP "Driver's Permit," coming out this spring! He dished to TWIST about his inspiration for music, what's on his iPod, and what the perfect date looks like! Click HERE for our exclusive interview with Jack and tell us what you think below!
TWIST: When you write, where do you draw your inspiration from? Jack: Anything it could be love, it could be something I hear on the street, a strong emotion I'm feeling, something I read in the newspaper, you know it can be really anything that's going on that makes me feel strongly.
T: You tweeted about writing an essay for English. Do you find it hard to balance music with school? Do you miss out on school a lot? J: No, I don't have to miss a lot of school, but somehow it's not that challenging to manage. I'm doing pretty well in school; I'm 3rd in my class. When I'm not doing homework, I'm always trying to do something for music -- writing, rehearsing, trying to figure out something I can add to the show -- anything really.
T: Why should our readers check out your music? J: They should check out my music because it is fun, and I think it's for everybody too. It's not just for kids or adults -- like Adele, it's for everybody. I try to connect with as many people as possible, and I think people can relate to it.
T: What's your idea of the perfect first date? J: Whenever I can keep the girl entertained, I guess. Don't make a fool of myself. I guess that'd be pretty perfect to me. I wouldn't want a whole lot more.
T: What's been on your iPod lately? What have you been listening to when you're cruising in the car? J: I love listening to Adele, and The Black Keys...and a lot of rock and roll bands that are current.
T: Do you have any upcoming projects that our readers should know about? J: My EP "Driver's Permit," should come out in February. T: Thanks so much, Jack! J: Thank you TWIST!
