Hey TWIST readers,
We recently chatted with Jake Short, who plays Fletcher Quimby on the awesomely hilarious Disney Channel show A.N.T. Farm! We chatted about the show, Fletcher and his New Year's resolution! Check out our exclusive interview with Jake below!
TWIST: Tell us a little about A.N.T. Farm! Jake: A.N.T. Farm is about these three kids who are 11 and in high school. They all started out as outsiders who were picked on by the big kids. Basically, the show is about them and their troubles in high school, and countering Lexi, the big kid. She not too nice to them. It's them trying to slip and slide under the rules. It's fun. They get into a lot of trouble, and there's a lot of conflict.
TWIST: And what about your character? Can you tell us a little bit about him? Jake: My character is Fletcher. He is very artistic. He can paint anything, draw anything, sculpt anything, and he has a huge crush on Chyna.
TWIST: How are you similar to Fletcher? Jake: Fletcher's very, very quirky, and he makes weird facial expressions. When he gets really nervous, he'll make crazy expressions and he'll get all tightened up and freak out sometimes. I think I'll make funny faces when I'm nervous as well.
TWIST: Do you and the rest of the cast hang out outside of the show? What do you like to do on set between scenes to pass the time when you're not doing schoolwork? Jake: Yeah, we do! We go to movies and stuff. We're actually really good friends outside of the show, so it's not like we go to set, have fun, be friends, then leave. We're sort of like a family at the set. We hang out and go to dinner sometimes. It's really fun. When we're not doing school, we usually make videos and stuff. We have Nerf wars in the hallways. That's always really fun.
TWIST: If you could star with any actor or actress, who would it be? Jake: If it was going to be a person I look up to, it would be Jeff Bridges, but if it was a celebrity crush, it would probably be Mila Kunis.
TWIST: It's almost time to ring in the new year! Do you have a New Year's resolution? Jake: Probably to stop inhaling so much sugar. I've got to cut back on the sugar usage and eat healthier!
