If you've ever been to a Taylor Caniff meet and greet, chances are you've seen a bunch of his fans wearing bright tie-dye shirts or bandanas as headbands. You may have even rocked the look yourself! When we caught up with the former Magcon star during his RV tour, and he exclusively dished the story behind his signature look.
"The tie-dye all came from my mother," Taylor explained. "She was in love with tie-dye, when I was younger she always wore it. Growing up, she would always dress me in tie-dye, I remember looking at my school pictures and there being, like, three school pictures in a row where I was wearing all tie-dye."
He then transitioned the look into the tour merch you know and love. "When I was with Magcon and we were all thinking of merchandise ideas, I thought I want to make mine tie-dye," he said. That makes sense!
As for the bandanas, Taylor said: "I always used to go boating with my dad and he'd always put a bandana on me to make sure he could tell which kid I was – we always used to go with 4 or 5 kids – and he always used to put a red bandana on me to make sure I was always on the boat. So ever since then I've always loved to wear red bandanas and tie-dye."
But now he's not the only one pairing those accessories together. "It's been a fashion trend on social media for quite awhile now, ever since Magcon started," he told TWIST. "You can always see kids [dressed like that] now. It's always cool because you can even tell at events with multiple artists, like with Cameron Dallas, you can always see who are my fans because they have the tie-dye and a bandana on and that's something that's special to me." How cool is that?!
