Ed Sheeran definitely has some uncanny lookalikes out there – after all, the collective jaws of the entire universe dropped when the singer cast his teenage doppelgänger in his recent "Castle on the Hill" music video. But it turns out that there's another celebrity out there in the universe who admits himself that he's frequently mistaken for Ed, and it's none other than Rupert Grint.
That's right! You may know Rupert best for his role as Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter films, but in a new interview, the actor confessed people often mistake him for the Grammy-winning singer/songwriter instead.
"It’s kind of 50/50 now, he said on The Late Late Show. "If someone stops me I could go either way. I could be Ed or I could be me."
It's not just some fans making the error, though. Rupert says even British singer Leo Sayer mistook him for his red-haired doppelgänger.
“He came up to me and said he loved my music, of course, thinking I was Ed. I play along."
It's great that he's a good sport about it and doesn't get offended by the confusion, but we can't even picture the situation. Imagine getting a selfie with Ed and it turning out to be another huge star altogether? We can't even deal.
The stars have matched before though, and have played up their physical similarities for projects together before. In fact, Rupert was featured in Ed's "Lego House" music video – so technically you could say they've musically collaborated together before.
Do you think Ed and Rupert are celeb doppelgängers, or are you totally missing the resemblance? Let us know in the comments section below!
