Do you love Riele Downs' fabulous fashion sense? The Henry Danger star always wows us with her real-life styles and red carpet statements – but it turns out that the Nickelodeon actress is more involved with her outfits than you even realized. Riele recently did a summer-themed photo shoot with our friends at YSBNow along with Jenna Ortega, Brec Bassinger, Lizzy Greene, Sofia Wylie, and Brenna D'Amico where she dished all about her style. TWIST is happy to exclusively premiere some behind-the-scenes photos from the day – and reveal what we learned about Riele's style!
"I was into fashion before I can even remember. I have this folder of drawings at my house in Toronto that are literally from kindergarten. My best friend and I would sketch them," Riele shares about her passion for fashion. "I was designing from a pretty young age and then just kept doing it and doing it. Then, I got this book from my teacher that had the outlines of the girls already in it so I could just draw on it. Now I have so many pages of that stuff, so I'm hoping to keep making them and wearing them!"
Now, Riele keeps her sketchbook handy, and some of her drawings come to life for her red carpet looks.
"I have this huge book of designs. Whenever I'm feeling in a creative mood, I kind of go to it and something happens. I'm hoping to do a lot more of that and get these outfits made and wear them to events hopefully!" she says. "It's important to take risks on the red carpet. For the KCAs and RDMAs, I wanted to do something a little different. I made my own outfits and that was really exciting. There was this spark of excitement just knowing I created this. We went to the fashion district and bought all the materials. Every step of the way was super exciting and I'm glad I got to design it."
