Kendall Schmidt loves adding to his tattoo collection, but he values the story behind his ink just as much! The Big Time Rush member told TWIST about the inspiration behind his body art while chatting about his new band Heffron Drive's new single, "Parallel," which is out on iTunes now.
"I made a habit of taking my time with it because obviously there’s only so much room for very specific tattoos, but I’m kind of having a collection of artists more than just specific people," Kendall explains EXCLUSIVELY to TWIST. "I have a cartoon portrait of my dog’s face, of course I love my dog a lot, but it’s also the most famous tattoo artist in the world who did it."
So what kind of new ink ideas are on Kendall's radar? "I [already] have one tattoo that’s for my grandparents on my mom’s side, and I’m going to get a tattoo for my grandparents on my dad’s side," he says. "I have my grandpa’s name on the back of my arm, but other than getting just their names, I’ve sort of gone with the symbolic things. My grandpa really likes eagles and my grandma’s name is Rose, so I figured I’d do something with an eagle and a rose." How sweet!
