Jordan Fisher is really living the dream: from his music to his acting – hello, Grease: Live, anyone? – his career is really having a moment right now. It turns out that a lot of the star's success is thanks to his family encouraging him to pursue his life's passions. This Black History Month, TWIST has been asking tons of your favorite stars to share stories about their families, and we asked Jordan to tell us how his own family's history has shaped them into the person who he is today.
"I'm multi-racial to include black and white. We have a little bit of many nationalities in my family," Jordan tells us. "I was raised to not only accept diversity but to embrace and appreciate it and be proud of it. My parents have definitely helped shape me in to who I am today because of the importance they stressed of being proud of who I am, to hold true to my values, and to love and accept people of all colors and nationalities."
"[My family] always supported me and encouraged me to be proud of who I am," he adds, explaining how his family has instilled pride in him since the very beginning. "They encouraged me to find my passions which has allowed me to pursue my dreams."
That's so incredible!
