Need some new music in your life? We hear you. Which is why TWIST is excited to reveal your first look at singer Evee's new music video for her song, "Lone Wolf." The artist is free-spirited, and doesn't like to conform to what other people expect from her. In order to get to know her better, we asked Evee to tell us all about the song and the evolution of her musical career. You can check out our exclusive Q & A below.
TWIST: How do you relate to your single, "Lone Wolf"?
Evee: "Lone Wolf" digs deep into my personal experience. It's about embracing change while staying true to who you are. I imagine myself as the lone wolf since I've never been afraid to venture out into the unknown.
TWIST: When you were growing up, did you ever feel different than other kids, and how did you feel about it?
Evee: Growing up I felt different from other kids often, actually. That was mostly because my family was always on the move. I had to start over at a new school every 2 years or so. Every so often I'd dive in and try to make new friends, but often felt hesitant about getting too close. I never really knew how long I would be in one place, which made it difficult to form meaningful relationships. I
often found myself walking alone in parks and woods while singing. Music was my escape.
TWIST: Have you always embraced being different and unique, or was it a gradual process?
Evee: Honestly, it took a long time for me to be comfortable in my own skin. I've always thought it was best to be as true to yourself as possible. It's definitely a work in progress lol and it doesn't always come easy but I've learned to have fun in the process! I'll have to admit, accepting me for me didn't happen overnight.
TWIST: How have you channeled your personality into all of your artistic endeavors?
Evee: When I create music, I think visually. I write my lyrics to match the world I'm feeling. I pull from my personal experiences in my music. There's so much depth in experience that people can relate to. Most people don't know this about me, but theater is another outlet for me to explore my creativity. I've been acting since before I can remember. I'm always learning something new about myself from the characters I play. It's funny how they all become a piece of me lol.
TWIST: Can you tell us what went into creating your new music video?
Evee: I felt like I was in my element. We shot the video in the mountains in California, which was beyond beautiful! I felt like my acting could really shine through in my performance when we were shooting. The video is whimsical with symbols that people can interpret in their own way. Plus, getting glammed up and running in the woods was pretty awesome too!
