Dove Cameron and Ryan McCartan are way busy. Seriously, we can barely imagine how the Girl and the Dreamcatcher bandmates and real-life couple manages to tour, work on acting projects, write music, and still have time to de-stress. When we caught up with the duo at their latest concert, we asked them to dish some words of advice for those of us over here who are just trying to juggle exams and extracurriculars.
"This is not how we treat our careers, because obviously our careers are a dream come true, but in terms of kids struggling with finals and school and things like that? If you know you have to do something, there's no use in being upset about it or wishing it was any certain other way," Dove shares with TWIST. "If you want to enjoy your life, that's a decision to make and so if you want to be happy and get all of those things done, your body will follow suit."
"Your body is capable of anything. And athletes, people who really train know that more than anybody," she explains. "What you think your limits are, you're not even close to reaching your max. As long as you maintain a happiness and a willingness and open mind, you will totally surprise yourself with what you're capable of."
Ryan credits having Dove as a constant support system for keeping him grounded and calm during even the most hectic times.
"We act, we sing, we tour, we write. We have so much going on, but we always find a way to have each other by each other's side," he shares. "That's what gets me through it, having a support system in her."
"She's like my charger, like she's my outlet. As long as I have her to bounce my stress off of, or I have her to talk things through with, that's how I get through it," he says. "It's not really stressful as long as you have someone to really ground you and keep you supported and motivated. And that's what she does for me."
Well, how adorable is that?
