Dinah Jane Hansen is always serving up some major doses on confidence, but the Fifth Harmony
singer opened up in a new video about how this wasn't always the case. She used to be self-conscious and insecure in herself, until one day, something clicked and everything changed.
"When I was younger, I wore [a lot of] sweaters because I thought, I'm a thick girl so I shouldn't be showing that much skin. I didn't really wear any type of makeup, I was just afraid," Dinah said. "You know when you're younger, you just have these monsters in your head and they're just telling you, 'You're not that cute, you're not that skinny, you're not that pretty like that one girl.' As time went on, I was just like 'Stop picking on yourself' and I started wearing what I usually didn't wear and I noticed, 'Oh it looks really, really nice on you.' So that's how it started."
Dinah Jane realized there was no need to be so hard on herself because she was perfect, just the way she was. She even gave some tips to help anyone out when they're not feeling their best.
"When you're down, or you don't feel really good about yourself, try dressing up and I promise you, it will bring a smile to your face," she said.
