Dancer turned recording artist Nia Sioux may be a familiar face on the popular series Dance Moms, but the reality star wants you to know that she goes through the same exact things as everyone else. That includes bullying.
Nia recently took to Instagram to take a stance against cyberbullying sharing, "I feel so grateful to have a platform to speak my mind, and I will never take it for granted or use it to spread negativity. So here I am using this platform to say that what has been happening online with cyberbullying is not ok. Especially when it is a parent targeting kids."
Nia goes on to say, "I am beyond thankful for you all and I hope that if you have been bullied, you know that you are not alone. We can stand up!"
It is amazing that Nia is using her platform to spread positivity and awareness of something that affects each and every one of us.
TWIST caught up with Nia and asked her to share her personal story with cyberbullying, as well as what someone can do to join her in taking a stance against bullying of all kinds.
In our exclusive video, Nia shares that she is not immune to cyberbullying and she even reveals a time when awful comments online almost ruined her day. Thankfully, her family and friends helped her through it, and she shares some other things you can do to get involved and help put an end to this huge problem.
Check out our video above to see more from our interview. As an added bonus, Nia also has a brand new single coming out on May 4th and fans can pre-order the song right now on iTunes.
