New year, new Camila Cabello! Our girl has certainly started 2017 off with a BANG, having already featured on the cover of two magazines, rocked a red carpet on her lonesome and now, she is working on her first music video.
As the former Fifth Harmony member is currently on the promo trail for her solo career, this unfortunately means that she is subject to all kinds of dumb AF questions and statements from interviewers.
During an interview with E! News, a host suggested that Camila drop her last name because "it's difficult to pronounce and unnecessary."
Unsurprisingly, Cammy’s legion of fans have taken to Twitter to draaaaaag the host for her silly suggestion.
Did this @enews reporter really just tell Camila Cabello to lose her last name because it's "hard to pronounce?"— Giselle (@gisellealvarez_) February 20, 2017
@eonlineTV literally told camila cabello to drop her last name cause it's difficult to "pronounce" and "unnecessary". That's so rude.— melissa (@DMeli623) February 20, 2017
This E!news reporter suggested Camila Cabello to drop her last name if she wants to be famous bc spanish last names are hard to pronounce... pic.twitter.com/QrKiF1GWbb— Dianys N. Padró (@a_yo_d) February 20, 2017
@erinlimofficial uhhh. you know what is unnecessary?Ur oppressive comment on somebody's last name. Why should you keep yours and not Camila?— Jo Antonio (@jocyantonio) February 22, 2017
NGL, she low-key had that coming!
In a time where oppression and racism is on the rise, how about not asking people to banish their "difficult to pronounce" last names, yeah?
