Avan Jogia is gearing up to be a part of a totally new acting project! Deadline is reporting that the celeb is going to be part of a new Syfy US and international Netflix series called Ghost Wars, starring Vincent D’Onofrio, Kim Coates, Kristin Lehman and Meatloaf.
"Set in a remote Alaskan town that has been overrun by paranormal forces, the series focuses on local outcast Roman Mercer (played by Avan) who must overcome the town’s prejudices and his own personal demons if he’s to harness his repressed psychic powers and save everyone from the mass haunting that’s threatening to destroy them all," according to the site's show description.
Avan tweeted a scene photo that shows he is already on location for this new project.
He also gave fans a first look behind-the-scenes of filming, showing off a look at his character Roman's style.
The show consists of 13-episodes that are initially set to debut in 2017. We are really excited to see what Avan and the rest of the cast do with these new roles, because the show's concept sounds so unique.
Ghost Wars is not just a contemporary homage to classic psychological horror, it’s also an opportunity to tell stories about human politics and how we shape our beliefs and lives based on our individual perspectives and biases," the show's creator and frontrunner Simon Barry said. "Science, Humanism, Religion and the Paranormal all get a seat at the table. I’m grateful that Chad Oakes and Mike Frislev have assembled such a wealth of talent, both in front of and behind the camera, to hopefully elevate this genre series beyond expectations."
