The past few days have certainly been very difficult for those in the city of Manchester, families and loved ones affected, and for Ariana Grande after the horrific events that occurred outside of her concert earlier this week.
In the most amazing way fans, celebrities, and people from all across the world have banded together to show their support. Some have done so publicly while others took the social media route to send a powerful message, though someone who fans and the world have been waiting to hear from is the “Dangerous Woman” singer herself.
Ariana has remained silent on social media since the events, until now. She took to Instagram to share a powerful message with all her fans, and to share her intentions of holding a benefit concert sometime in the future, although an official date for that has not yet been released.
The essay reads, “My heart, prayers, and deepest condolences are with the victims of the Manchester Attack and their loved ones. There is nothing I or anyone can do to take away the pain you are feeling or to make this better. However, I extend my hand and heart and everything I possibly can give to you and yours, should you want or need my help in any way. The only thing we can do now is choose how we let this affect us and how we live our lives from here on out.
She then goes on to praise her fans and everyone around the world for showing compassion, love, and strength in the wake of such a tragedy.
"I have been thinking of my fans, and all of you, non stop over the past week. The way you have handled all of this has been more inspiring and made me more proud than you'll ever know. The compassion, kindness, love, strength and oneness you've shown one another this past week is the exact opposite of the heinous intentions it must take to pull off something as evil as what happened Monday. YOU are the opposite,” she continued to write.
“I am sorry for the pain and fear that you must be feeling and for the trauma that you, too, must be experiencing. We will never be able to understand why events like this take place because it is not in our nature, which is why we shouldn’t recoil. We will not quit or operate in fear. We won’t let this divide us. We won’t let hate win,” the statement continued to read.
Ariana also let her fans know that she and her concerts would continue to be a place for them to express themselves and uplift one another. She continued to write, “I don’t want to go the rest of the year without being able to see and hold and uplift my fans, the same way they continue to uplift me. Our response to this violence must be to come closer together, to help each other, to love more, to sing louder and to live more kindly and generously than we did before. I’ll be returning to the incredibly brave city of Manchester to spend some time with my fans and to have a benefit concert in honor of and to raise money for the victims and their families. I want to thank my fellow musicians and friends for reaching out to be part of our expression of love for Manchester. I will have details to share with you as soon as a everything is confirmed.”
The singer completed her statement by promising to honor and remember everyone affected. She completed her essay by writing, "we will continue to honor the ones we lost, their loved ones, my fans, and all affected by this tragedy. They will be on my mind and in my heart everyday and I will think of them with everything I do for the rest of my life," she completed her statement with.
Powerful and amazing words to honor those affected. A benefit concert is a wonderful way to hold tribute, and a wonderful way to honor everyone who has been affected by this horrific event. Surely, Ariana’s words have meant a lot to fans everyone across the globe sending her and the families affected well wishes.
Our thoughts and prayers continue go out to the families and to the fans who have been affected by this attack.
