Good news for Andi Mack fans: the Disney Channel series is officially coming back. That's right, the show has been renewed for a second season.
More adventures from Andi, Buffy, Cyrus, Jonah and the whole Mack family? Yes, please! As any fan of the show knows, it was created by Terri Minsky, the woman you can thank for creating another Disney Channel classic, Lizzie McGuire. AM focuses on Andi and her friends as they navigate life in middle school and dealing with all the drama that comes with being a teenager, you know, between school, sports, crushes and your friends. But Andi's life got totally turned upside down when she found out on her 13th birthday that her older sister Bex is actually her mom and her parents who had been raising her are her grandparents. We know, THE DRAMA.
Joshua Rush, who plays Cyrus, took to Twitter to share how excited he is about the big news.
"Why are we smiling? Because ANDI MACK SEASON 2 IS HAPPENING! #AndiMack #andimackfamily," he wrote in the caption.
Sofia Wylie is just as pumped about the big update.
"It's official! #AndiMack season 2 is happening! Hit the "LIKE" IF YOU ARE EXCITED ABOUT SEASON 2!!!"
This show is simply unlike anything else the network has ever done before and that's part of it's magic.
"There is not another series out right now – on any platform – that speaks to our core demographic with the authenticity and insight that Terri and her creative team have captured with Andi Mack. This series and these characters are well on their way to becoming this generation’s Lizzie McGuire," Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer of Disney Channels Worldwide said in a statement.
And that is so true, which makes perfect sense as to why it's already been renewed for more episode. Season one is still airing though so every Friday night, you still have plenty more of season one left to air.
