If you've ever seen Alyson Stoner dance – and from all of her incredible projects like Step Up and Camp Rock, we're sure that you have – you know that she's totally amazing! So when we caught up with the A-List actress, we had to get her to spill some advice for girls who might want to get into fitness routines involving dance as well.
"There are many forms of dance, and I don’t just mean styles like ballet, jazz, and hip-hop," Alyson tells TWIST exclusively. "There are freestyle versus industry, competition versus dancing in your room. And they’re all great and special for their own reasons, so you don’t have to be a professional to be a dancer."
So how do you get started? "I would recommend taking different classes in your area if you want to be more technically trained. But if not, scour YouTube," she advises. "Look at some of the different freestyle videos online and then put together a playlist of music and explore, experiment, and create shapes with your body. Just push through the idea that there’s a right and a wrong with music, and connect more to the story you’re trying to tell." That's some great motivation!
