2012 Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman is kicking it into high gear as she promotes her new sporty collection and collaboration with Reebok and their new Zpump shoe! TWIST exclusively chatted with the gymnast and she spilled what it was really like working on this campaign geared specifically towards kids.
"I think it’s really great and important that I’m working with Reebok to help inspire kids to stay active and help them find something they love to do," she says. "It’s really exciting for me just because as a gymnast and as an athlete it’s really important to stay fit.
The athlete strives to be an awesome role model for young kids but she also has a special connection with Reebok as a brand. "I’ve obviously been a big fan of the brand and I’ve been wearing it since I was a little girl. I work out with little girls all the time and so I definitely see the value and the importance of being a good role model. I was really excited that I was able to to do something that impacts kids all over the country."
Aly may not always be donning sneakers while practicing gymnastics, but she knows how important it is to stay well-rounded. "I think it’s important for younger kids to be able to try a bunch of different sports and obviously, besides gymnastics, in all those other sports you have to wear sneakers. I’ve tried tons of sports before I settled in with gymnastics, I love soccer and figure skating and baseball and basketball. Even for my gymnastics training, I run on the weekends."
