TWIST talks with Milly and Becky Rosso!

March 25 Rosso Girls.jpg
Hey Girls!

We just hung up the phone with twins Milly and Becky Rosso! The sisters dished to us about their movie Legally Blondes! Pick it up on DVD next month!

Check out our Q&A where the girls gave us the scoop about their new movie and spilled behind-the-scenes deets! Becky and Milly also share a hilarious embarrassing moment and their celeb crushes!

TWIST: Hey Girls! We are so excited to see Legally Blondes when it comes out next month! Can you tell us about the movie?
Milly: Legally Blondes is about Elle Woods' British twin cousins, Izzie and Annie Woods. They move from England to a really posh prep school in California on a scholarship with their dad. We have trouble fitting in because we don't have much money like everyone else at the school and we stick out because we don't dress like everyone else. And there's this really mean girl Tiffany, who makes our lives miserable! She frames us for something we didn't do, so we have to try to prove our innocence in the academic court. Also, we use the lawyer skills we've inherited to get clothes and shoes at bargain prices!

TWIST: Do you still keep in touch with your costars?
Milly: We mainly keep in touch with Brittany Curran who plays the mean girl, Tiffany. We see and talk to her a lot, and we just recently went to the movies with her, actually! And it was really funny 'cause we would be chatting and laughing with Brittany during breaks in filming and then the director would call us on the set and we would be filming a scene where she was really mean to us. And when the director would say cut and we would go back to chatting again!

TWIST: Who did you hang out with between scenes?
Milly: We got to hang out with all the cast and crew members. We used to play games and chat with everyone. We'd listen to songs on the iPod and we did arm wrestling competitions! And we were on this beach for a while and we played card games and silly games like that. It was fun!

TWIST: Is there a love interest in the movie?
Milly: My character, Annie is shy with boys, but she has a crush on Chris, who is played by Bobby Campo. Izzie tries to help things along, but not very successfully!

TWIST: Do you have any celebrity crushes?
Becky: We both really like Johnny Depp, but he's a bit old now. We also like Orlando Bloom.

TWIST: Can you tell us about a recent embarrassing moment?
Becky: On the set of Legally Blondes, sometimes we had to wake up really early. One time, I didn't want to wake up my sister by turning on the light so I grabbed a pair of flip-flops and left. When I got to the set I noticed people looking at me really strangely. I looked down and I was wearing one yellow and one black flip-flop! One producer asked me if it was a new trend among teenagers. It was so embarrassing!

Tell us - Are you going to see Legally Blondes?

TWIST chats with Nat Wolff!

NAKED IDOL MARCH 16.jpg

Hey Girls!

We've got more behind-the-scenes scoop from the set of NBB! Lead singer Nat Wolff dished to us about the "Naked Idol" episode (just aired this weekend!) and his sure-to-be-a-hit new song, "The World As We Know It Today." Check out our Q&A where Nat talks about the show - and even his mom spills some details!

TWIST: Hey Nat! Tell us about the episode "Naked Idol."
Nat: I think it's one of my favorite shows! It's one of the favorites I've ever done or we've ever done because it's kind of an emotional one and it was really fun to do. And Naked Brothers fans will really love it!

TWIST: Since you were auditioning for a replacement in the band, tell us about the auditions.
Nat: There will be tons of bad auditions in this episode! It's really funny. There's this montage of people auditioning and one guy falls asleep! People do really hilarious things in their auditions. But yeah we have to find a replacement and it's really difficult.
Nat's Mom: There is a big plot twist at the very end!

TWIST: You debut a new song in this episode, too. Can you tell us about that?
Nat: It's a really great one, it has a hip-hop beat behind it. It's kind of almost like a rap. I dug it! We haven't really done anything quite like it. It's mostly all about the lyrics.

TWIST: Where do you get the inspiration?
Nat: Through everyday life and just being a kid. I think that's why people can relate to our songs 'cause it's really written by kids going through the exact same thing. And not all the messages are completely on the surface. But once you get into it deeply it always takes something from reality. Or sometimes I can get inspired by having a really cool title or a really great melody, and I just build from that.

Let's dish! Did you watch the episode this weekend? What did you think? Are you excited for the new NBB song?

XOXO!

TWIST chats with the Naked Brothers Band!

NBB_Naked_Idol_02HR.jpg

Hey TWIST girls!

We just chatted with Nat and Alex from the Naked Brothers Band! They couldn't stop talking about the episode of NBB that airs tomorrow called "Naked Idol." From what the guys had to say about the episode, it sounds like major drama between Nat and Rosalina! Be sure to check back here soon for more from our interview, but here's a snitbit of our convo with Alex for now!

TWIST: Hey Alex! What can you tell me about the "Naked Idol" episode airing this weekend?
AW: It's really awesome. Basically, Allie, who plays Roselina, she...uh, she kind of runs off with someone and something happens. I don't want to give too much away. And then we have to audition lots of people for something and -- you'll just have to watch! There's an audition for something, and we just try to find someone with auditions and we finally get the person. Then there's a debate of who wants to be in the band. You'll just have to watch! Oh, and it's dedicated to our grandma. She's in it, you'll see. She's the old person playing bass!

TWIST: So you mentioned auditions and I know that David from Simple Plan and Tobin from Papa Roach will be guest-starring? I imagine they'll have great auditions! Will we see any bad ones?
AW: There were some bad ones. I mean I wouldn't call them bad, I would just call them "needs improvement!"

TWIST: So how was it having David and Tobin on set?
AW: They're so much fun! And to be with some other experienced musicians, it was great!

TWIST: What can you tell us about the new song "The World As We Know It Today"?
AW: It's a really cool, kinda pop culture song! It's got kind of a hip-hop beat behind it. Like we call it the modern age "We Didn't Start The Fire" a little bit because it's got a lot of pop culture things in it when you listen to it. I love it so I hope you guys will too!

That's it for now, TWIST girls! Be sure to check back soon for more from Nat and Alex!

Let's dish, what do you think of the Nat/Rosalina relationship drama? Comment now with your thoughts!

TWIST Chats With Mario!

MARIO MARCH 11.jpg

Hey TWIST Girls!

TWIST just got off the phone with the super-talented (and cute!) Mario! He told us about his upcoming CD, which hits shelves in July. He also dished about what inspires his music and how he has grown as an artist. "It's a fun album, but it's also very emotional and very personal," he tells TWIST! Check out our Q&A where Mario shares an embarrassing moment and spills a hilarious celebrity crush!

TWIST: Hey Mario! Your 4th album is coming out soon! Tell us more about it.
MARIO: Yea, it's coming out this summer - it's my best album yet! I had a great time recording it. I spent a lot of time in LA, Miami, New York, Atlanta - moving around a lot, getting different vibes. I did some recording in Europe, which was cool. The name of the album is "And Then There Was Me". The whole process was different from anything I've ever done before, in terms of recording. I also wrote a lot more on the record.

TWIST: Why is the album called "And Then There Was Me"?
MARIO: There's a lot to the title. For the most part, I think growth-wise and how different my music sounds from my other albums. Also how different it sounds from what's on the radio right now. To me, it's going to be the best that's out when it comes out, so I made it that for that reason. And also, the growth I've experienced as an artist and what I'm going to bring to my fans when it comes to my music and my style. It's like the rebirth of a new me.

TWIST: You said your sound has changed, how would you describe it now?
MARIO: First, I would describe it as natural. Musically, I would say as I evolved, and as I got older, I think I've needed to feel more. I've needed to express more. I've needed the music to have more depth to it. I think that this album shows that.

TWIST: Where do you get the inspiration for your music?
MARIO: From my life and my experiences, but also being around other people. Seeing how vulnerable we are as humans. This is an escape for me, from anything I could possibly experience in life. A lot of people don't have that escape, or maybe they do, they just haven't realized what that escape is for them. But music, it's universal, it touches the world, it touches everybody. So I'm inspired by that.

TWIST: Tell us about the most personal song on the album.
MARIO: They are all personal. And I did them all for different reasons. The most personal sounding record on the album is called "The Hardest Moment". It's personal because I say things in the record that have multiple meanings. Like the chorus says, "A man that ain't afraid to cry is a man that's not afraid to die." That to me, even though I'm talking about a relationship in the song, I'm talking about that point in a relationship where everything is over. It's like, you guys are cool, you guys are friends, but you're totally going separate ways. That's probably one of the hardest things a young man and young woman can go through in their relationship. And, so that's what I'm saying in that line. But it also means to me that a strong man is not afraid to be vulnerable, to cry and let it out. I just felt it was a line that people can connect with.

TWIST: Can you tell us about a recent embarrassing moment you've had?
MARIO: I was driving my car and I parked on a hill. And I forgot to put my emergency break on! When you're driving a stick shift, you've gotta put your emergency break on. So as I'm getting out of the car, the car starts moving! And when the car is moving it's hard to jump in and put your foot on the brake. I scuffed my brand new sneaks and there were people around, they were like "woah, that's Mario!" It was embarrassing.

TWIST: Who is your celebrity crush?
MARIO: You might laugh at me when I say this, but Oprah. She's fascinating.

TWIST: Hey Sanjaya! Tell us about your EP Dancing to the Music in my Head which just came out.
SANJAYA: I'm really excited! We used raw beats, which is a really strong influence in my music and all kinds of different world sounds and influences. It's kind of an infusion of worlds because my influences are Nine Inch Nails to Sublime to India.Arie to Lauryn Hill. So it's all over the place.

TWIST: What's your favorite song on the album?
SANJAYA: My favorite song is called "Rainy Days." It actually came from a song my cousin wrote. She gave it to me for my 16th birthday. I took the lyrics to that and I changed the beat around, changed the melody. Originally, it was kind of an upbeat, folk-y song. One day, I went for a walk and I went to Central Park. I just sat there and this song just came - the entire song came! I was like, "Oh, this is really weird! I wonder what I can do with this!"
It had character! And then it fit with the song that I made and we were like, "Oh! We can make that work!" And then it kind of exploded! I'm just really, really proud of where it came from and how it turned out.

TWIST: What would you say is the most personal song?
SANJAYA: I think "A Guy Like Me." The intro, it's just something that really touched me.
(He sings!) "Tomorrow I'll give you the morning,
Tomorrow I'll give you the sun,
Let me wrap my warmth around you,
'Til our souls become one."

It's like - tomorrow, I want to do all these things for you. I want to wrap you and keep you safe and keep you warm. But, you just have to wait a little bit. Tomorrow, it will happen, but I just can't right now.

I was in a place where I had just gotten out of a relationship and gotten into American Idol. I was thinking about my career rather than what I'm going to learn at school. You have to totally change your mental thought process. So right after American Idol, I met my current girlfriend. We've been together for a year. We met, became friends and were hanging out. There was chemistry, but neither of us were in a place where we wanted to be in a relationship at all. That was like, the last thing we ever wanted to do! That's kind of where the song came from. Then it ended up working out! And now we've been happy and together for a year!

TWIST: Speaking of Idol, the 8th season is under way. What advice do you have for the newcomers?
SANJAYA: They should just go in there - they're obviously going to be nervous. Well, maybe not, but I was nervous! It's a stressful situation! The audition process is more stressful than it ought to be. I'd just say, go in knowing what you want to portray and who you want to be, who you want them to know you are. And be confident! When you're actually performing, it's more about performing than anything. Obviously if you perform really well, but you look horrible, that's something. But if you just stand there, they're not going to want to put you on their TV show, because they're casting for that. So just go out there, sing and perform, be confident, smile and who knows! Maybe you're just what they're looking for!

TWIST: Are you still in contact with anyone from your season?
SANJAYA: I went to dinner with Jordin [Sparks] actually, the night of the premiere! I was watching it and then she called me up! She's like, "Hey! Wanna go have dinner?" And I was like "Yeah, totally!" That was cool! And I'm going to try to see Melinda [Doolittle] in the next couple of days. She's coming into town. I went to LaKisha's [Jones] wedding! I try to keep in touch with most of them. A lot of them actually wrote inserts in the book, so that's really cool to get their side of things. I'm trying to get together with as many of them as I can before I get really busy.

TWIST: It's good you guys are still so close.
SANJAYA: That's really what formed the bonds we all have. We were the only people that really understood what it was like.

TWIST: What's your favorite memory from being on Idol?
SANJAYA: I think the day I found out I was going to Top 10! Because I knew I was going on tour! And I had a lot of trouble choosing a song that week, 'cause it was a big week! It was deciding whether you'd get to spend 3 months with the people that you're here with or you just leave. So, it was an amazing week!

TWIST: Tell us about a recent embarrassing moment.
SANJAYA: Well, on the Idol tour, I was changing and I realized I didn't have as much time as I would have liked to get to the stage and get off stage. So I had to run from the dressing room to across the hall into the stadium. So I'm jogging in the halls, and I had jeans on. I had jeans and a t-shirt and it was the second to last song. When I got to the stage, I realized that everyone was going on right then. So I started running, and I tripped and scraped my knee. I did the song and came back, and for the next number everyone was supposed to be wearing white. We were all in white and Jordin was in a blue dress. I have these red pants that I have to wear when I sing this Michael Jackson song. But they were way to small for me, so I was trying to find a bigger pair. And I saw this black dress that I had a feeling would look really good on Jordin. She tried it on and it fit her perfectly. Makes her look gorgeous! I said "Jordin, would you rather wear this or the blue dress?" So we got it. So on stage, everyone's wearing white and she's wearing this beautiful black dress. But my knee was bloody, so I wore the red pants that were too small because I didn't want to wear the white pants and get them bloody.

TWIST: Finish this sentence. A nickname I've had is:
SANJAYA: Sanjy.

TWIST: Your favorite snack for the movie?
SANJAYA: Popcorn.

TWIST: Favorite reality show?
SANJAYA: America's Next Top Model.

TWIST: Favorite outfit?
SANJAYA: Jeans and a t-shirt, but a cool t-shirt.

TWIST: Favorite movie?
SANJAYA: Across the Universe.

TWIST: Most embarrassing song on your iPod?
SANJAYA: "Hit me baby one more time" by Britney Spears.

TWIST: A superpower you wish you had?
SANJAYA: Psychic.

TWIST: Biggest dating pet peeve?
SANJAYA: Too much make-up.
