TWIST News: One Direction in Talks for a TV Show!

Hey TWIST Girls!

Big news--we learned that One Direction are in talks to get their own TV show on Nickelodeon! The boys of 1D have are getting super popular in the U.S. and sources spill, "Nickelodeon [is] in talks to give them their own show!" After One Direction filmed an episode of iCarly, Nathan Kress, who plays Freddie on the show, tweeted, "Just got home from a fantastic day of filming with One Direction! This is gonna be an awesome episode, can't wait for you guys to see it!" 1D totally proved themselves to be good actors, according to Jennette McCurdy who plays Sam. With their upcoming tour with Big Time Rush, 1D has def become good friends with the Nickelodeon family!

TWIST News: Selena Gomez Replaces Miley Cyrus in Upcoming Movie!

Miley Cyrus has just been replaced by Selena Gomez in the upcoming animated flick Hotel Transylvania! Sel will be playing Dracula's daughter Mavis alongside Adam Sandler. Sources say that Miley's trying to figure out what her next move should be, and claim that her dropping out of this vampire flick is "not that big of a deal." Regardless, both girls are totally great at animated movies! Miley played Penny in Bolt while Sel played Helga in Horton Hears a Who! We can't wait to check out this movie!

TWIST Exclusive: TWIST Chats With Erica Dasher of Jane by Design!

Last night we met up with Erica Dasher, who plays Jane Quimby, at a Jane by Design event at Bloomingdale's in NYC! Erica was thrilled to let TWIST readers in on what's coming up on the second half of this season! Erica told us "There's a lot of drama, and the clothes get better and better, and the boys stay really cute!" So exciting! Erica also let us in on what's going on with her character Jane and Jane's best friend Billy: "In terms of Jane and Billy, there's a lot of love there, and you never know what that love could turn into. So it's fun to watch it develop!" Erica did mention that there are "some big shockers coming up" this season - wow! Stay tuned to find out!

Yikes! Justin Bieber's Bodyguard gets into Trouble!

Hey ladies,

While leaving LAX recently, Justin Bieber was hounded by paparazzi snapping pictures of him. But, after asking them nicely to stop they all obliged -- that is except for one photographer who refused to put down his camera! He even tried to shoo away Justin's bodyguard and continue taking pics -- can you believe it? But, obviously JB's bodyguard wasn't going to stand for that and the 2 ended up getting in to an altercation. But after realizing how strong JB's bodyguard was, the photographer ran into his car and drove off and luckily no one was hurt. WOW! Can somebody say drama?!

]]> TWIST: You have a new album coming out soon! Can you tell us about it?
Cady: The last year and a half I've been writing just dozens and dozens of songs and then actually in the middle of making my album, I had someone break my heart in the worst way ever. Just totally deceived me on a huge level--and another woman on a huge level. It really changed everything--I was just so sad. So I got out of bed and the songs wrote themselves. Like the whole album just poured out of me and in a matter of a couple of weeks, after I had already been writing it for a year.

TWIST: So it took bad to get to this?
C: Yeah, so the single is called, "This Little Girl," it's out right now. It's out on iTunes. That song is really the first one that came out of this whole situation. It's very biting. I think that every girl and guy can relate to that. Being totally screwed over and being like "I'm not going to take it." So it's kind of that sort of feeling.

TWIST: Is there any single song that when you were writing it you were able to say, "I'm going to be able to get over this at some point?"
C: Actually not on the entire album, The album's been done for six months or more. But like two months ago, just for fun, I was with my producer and I was like, 'You know what? I need to let people know that I'm okay.' I needed to write a song that was like, 'You know, I made it through.' It's called "Live and Learn." So I wrote a song and it just made it on the album barely. So it's okay. It's okay to live and learn. It's like you've realized that you go through these huge things and you get sad but then you realize that's life and the only thing that's setting you apart from now and the pain is time. And that's all you can count on.

TWIST: Who are your biggest musical inspirations?
C: I would say Alanis Morissette is my biggest one. I also love more recent influences like Paramore. She has such a strong voice. I'm so into it. And she stays so professional with her lyrics.

TWIST: Is there anything else you want to tell our readers?
C: I just want to say that a lot of the music industry is smoke and mirrors. I want girls to know that. Girls need to realize that no one is perfect. I know the hardest thing being a teenage girl is to look at other girls and feel like they're perfect and be like so angry that you're not just like that. There's no girl with the perfect legs, the perfect face and especially the ones you think that are, they always look flawless but that's not true. There's a lot of smoke and mirrors and in this business, especially. There's a lot of touch ups on photos and girls don't realize that. I want it to be known that everything is photoshopped. Even my freckles were photoshopped in a photo and we all fought to put those freckles back. It's a struggle. I'm still guilty of it. I'll look at a photo and be like 'She's so perfect. Why can't I look like that?' But then I realize what does she look like when there is no makeup on and she gets up in the morning. Probably just as good as I look. It doesn't matter. What I really want fans to know is if you think everyone cares about anything--they don't. Like, I could care less if you weigh five pounds more or less than you do now. I'm here because I just want to connect with them on a real level. I expect the same respect from them in return.

TWIST Exclusive: We Go Backstage at Cody Simpson's Concert!

Hey TWIST Girls,

TWIST caught up with Cody Simpson this weekend at his "Welcome to Paradise" concert at Gramercy Theater in NYC! Cody played to a sold-out audience some of our favorite songs like "All Day" and "On My Mind." Cody spilled to TWIST, "[my fans] can definitely expect a new level of choreography of the entire performance!" He dished that "[I'm ready to] make the most of [the tour]!" We had the best time hanging out with Cody behind the scenes! Cody revealed to us, "I got a single coming out with T-Pain, in the next few weeks! It'll be the first single off the new album." We can't wait to hear it!

TWIST Video: Justin Bieber 's New Prank Shocks Fans!

Justin Bieber is known for pulling pranks on stage and on celeb pals such as Taylor Swift and Willow Smith, but he takes a joke to a whole new level when he pretended to be the director of a Proactiv commercial and surprised his fans! In a new video, Justin hides behind the director's booth, puts on funny accents, and directs the young girls to do silly things with the Proactiv products, and even tells one to "smile like you just lost your cat"! The girls were in for quite the surprise when they found out that it was Justin behind the camera - they had no idea! Justin had a great time with the prank and later tweeted, "#PranksterOnTheLoose!" Uh-oh, we better watch out! Check out the video above!

]]> TWIST: Could you tell us about Austin & Ally?
Calum: Absolutely. Austin and Ally is a great new comedy about following your dreams and the friends you meet along the way. Austin is an aspiring singer and Ally is an aspiring songwriter. When Austin becomes famous from using one of Ally's songs, the two decide to become partners.

T: Why should TWIST readers definitely watch the show?
C: I think that they have to watch the show because all the characters are really relatable and I think in every friend group you'll find a "Dez," a "Trish," an "Austin," and an "Ally."

T: Can you tell us about your character, Dez?
C: Yeah, Dez is a crazy out of this world kid. He's an aspiring filmmaker. He and Austin have been best friends all their lives. When Austin becomes famous he lets everything go to help his friend out on his new journey.

T: So you find him very relatable?
C: I think he is very relatable. I feel as though I have this inner Dez inside of me. He's that crazy personality that we all wish we could let out all the time.

T: Okay, that's really cool. Could you explain to me the idea of your perfect date?
C: My idea of a perfect date is one that's very relaxed and the two of us can have a lot of fun. I love a lot of laughter. I think the more you can laugh on a first date the better. Wherever it is, it has to be a place where you can really get to know the other person. Where you can find out their quirks and the stuff they don't want to let out normally.

T: Could you explain your ideal girl?
C: The ideal girl is someone who makes me laugh. I love laughter. I feel laughter is the best medicine. It makes life so much easier if you're surrounded by people who make you happy and laugh all the time. The girl who can make me laugh is a huge plus. And just someone who's fun and loves life because I really have a passion for life. I love every single day and I love every single moment. I just feel so blessed to be here living life. I like to see girls who have that common interest with me--who can really love every moment and see the positive side of life.

TWIST STYLE: We Talk to Jewelry Designer Lacey Ryan!

Hey TWIST Girls!

Here at TWIST we know our readers are already super stylish and totally creative but you're always looking for more tips and tricks to become the ultimate fashionista! So we decided to sit down with Lacey Ryan, the young jewelry designer who, at just 9-years-old, started up a business that now boasts fans including Justin Bieber, Emma Roberts, and many more of our fave celebrities! Lacey shared her advice on starting up a business, how to accessorize and what it was like finding out Justin was wearing her jewelry!

TWIST: How did you get your business started?

Lacey: I started when I was about nine, I participated in craft fairs and I always loved creating things. All my friends would be at the beach and I was just obsessed with creating and making jewelry.

TWIST: What would be your advice for girls who are interested in starting their own fashion or jewelry line?

Lacey: Be prepared for a lot of work! There are going to be a lot of drawbacks and a lot of things that put you backward but there's always something bright to look forward to. You cant be discouraged when something happens that you weren't planning. It's a lot of work but it's extremely rewarding when you see people wearing the things you've designed.

TWIST: Do you have any tips on how to accessorize outfits?

Lacey: I think it's really important that you don't necessarily just follow a trend, it's fun to put everything together the way you like to wear it. Keep up with the trends -- like right now neon is really popular -- so you can mix trends, pieces you find and then things that you've owned forever to create your own individual style.

TWIST: What's your number one accessory that you couldn't live without?

Lacey: Ever since I started my collection I wear the beaded bracelets backed up on my wrists every single day. I don't leave the house without them, lots of layering! It's fun because I'll wear something that I make and then I'll wear it with something my grandmother gave me, it's fun to mix old and new.

TWIST: You've had some huge celebrities wearing your jewelry lately. What was your reaction when you heard that your line was getting so much Hollywood buzz?

Lacey: It was awesome, definitely a huge dream of mine that I didn't really think would ever happen or was capable of happening. Once it happened it was just extremely exciting.

TWIST: What inspires your designs?

Lacey: I'm really inspired by what surrounds me. I'm influenced by colors, seasons, places I've been and people I've met. A recent trip to South Africa really changed my inspirations just in terms of colors and geometric shapes and patterns. I was kind of structured in one way and when I went there it opened my mind to mix and match and put things together that I normally wouldn't. I just love seeing new stones and colors, they kind of strike my imagination and I run with it.
