TWIST Chats with Action Item!

Action Item.JPG Hey ladies,

TWIST recently sat down with one of the cutest pop bands around - Action Item. You might recognize these five New Jersey guys from their swoon-worthy duet with Chelsea Kane or from their opening spots on tours with Emily Osment, Drake Bell and Allstar Weekend, just to name a few. But incase you're unfamiliar, we've got the inside scoop on just how this band came to be and what it's really like being on the road with Justin Bieber. Can't get enough of our fave new act? Be sure to catch them performing at Bamboozle and opening up for We The Kings this summer!

xoxo,
TWIST

Twist: So, how did you guys first come together as a band?
Anthony: Brian, Dan and Dave grew up in a small town where everybody knows everybody. I met the guys when I was in high school through a mutual friend. And we met Mark playing shows together. He was in a different band. Then his band broke up and we stole him!

Twist: Tell us all about your big duet with Chelsea Kane.
Brian: We wanted to do a duet for our second single, "When Everything Falls Back Down," and Chelsea's voice fit very well. She finished it out in LA while we were in New York City. So, we actually just met her two weeks ago at Dancing With The Stars. We had this song on the radio together but we hadn't met. It was kind of crazy!

Twist: Where do you draw your inspiration from?
Mark: A lot of things. We love Coldplay, The Beatles, The Script. We listen to a lot of piano-based music. We write all of our music ourselves and we love it. It's straight from the heart. Anthony even wrote one of our singles, "Somewhere Out There," about Meaghan Martin!
Anthony: It wasn't really about her! It was inspired by her!
Mark: I feel like Anthony is trying to be the next Taylor Swift, trying to write songs about every girl.

Twist: Is it true that you guys even opened up for Justin and Selena recently?
Brian: We played an event called PopCon last February with Selena and Justin. We like to think we're responsible for match making them.
David: I actually had lunch with Justin one day. It was really cool to meet him and hang out.

Twist: Okay, spill! Do you have any strange pre-show rituals or any other little quirks that make you, you?
Dan: I stretch. I have to do my stretches for at least 10 or 15 minutes.
David: I actually love building models of Legos.
Dan: I've also realized that I would eat anything for money.

Twist: Thanks so much boys!!
Action Item: Thank you TWIST!
